It’s early morning
The city is still somewhat quiet
Not much traffic yet
The sun is out, but not fully
Another day is just beginning
Time for coffee and tea
To catch up on the news
And the world
Breakfast is needed
So many choices
Still time to rest
Before starting up the day
The coolness of the air
Refreshes after a hot day
Cleansing the body
It’s time for stillness
To calm the spirit

i spread sugar across the kitchen table
and use my index finger to start from
deep scratch, penetrating it's layer to
the smooth wooden surface below

writing characters into gritty detail
within it's fine grainy media, i finish
each line without any practical means
to re-work the structure

they are my sweet licks by finger tips,
rows of tasty words that lay bare upon
a temporary tablet— in a raw form
which will soon be swept into a dust pan

just a musing on a mess at a place
meant for dining, i remove my
thoughts with a hand held brush—

yet traces of its ghost now linger
in a fragile film awaiting your
consumption...

there was a little dog the poor chap was blind
he was very gentle and very very kind
this it didnt stop him he still had his smell
where ever he was going he could plainly tell.

he would use his nose when playing in the park
find his own way home when ever it was dark
he could sniff his food when it was time to eat
pull it with his paws  to enjoy his little treat.

the little dog was clever a clever dog was he
happy and content all though he coudnt see

Happy is a department store
something to look at on every floor
if we know what we are shopping for
but generally we don't, do we?

You remain.

Too long, even now,
Heavily against this heart.

Like staring at light as it goes out.
The image, memory of a sight.
