It's like broken ribs
It's excruciating, breath taking
But no one but you knows it
Not another soul can feel it

It cripples you, drains you
It takes all it can from you
And just when you think it's moved on
It stabs you yet again

As if to tell you
It's best to just give in
It likes to make you cry, weep
Your joy, it likes to take and keep

You'll want to give up
For that is its goal
It'll take your will to live
And crush it without a second glance

It's the product of too much evil
Sometimes too much love
It comes along when you want it least
For many of us, the pain may never cease

Days feel the same as night
I drown in the darkness
I suffocate in the light

The sun looks the same as the moon
I ignore the day's time
I won't wake until noon

Cold feels the same as heat
The flames obscure my sight
Ice uses my body to beat

Days feel the same as night
I run from the darkness
I hide from the light

Shadowed hearts
Dancing on a broken flame
Where they are going
They shall remain

Fractured souls
Ignoring the burning urge
To become whole
Into darkness, they surge

Candle light
Illuminating the shelter
Of those alone
With lives so helter-sketler

Drifting comrades
Ignored calls in the dead of night
Lost in thoughts
They've backed down from the fight

Holy water
Poured out by a pastor
Forsaken love
From thy father

Abandoned faith
Drenched in the guilt of blood
Confusion sets in
Guidelines as clear as mud
I am still working on this but I would love some feedback and suggestions. Tell me what you think so far and what I could do to improve please.

We live in a world
Of rapid fire
When something is thought through
Not many of us understand

We live in world
Where people ignore the aftermath
If something is calculated
Most of us run away from the plan

We live in a world
Of confused minds and broken hearts
Selfish, most of us are
And the majority don't regret it

I love the flowers.
They strike me as beautiful
And alluring.
I like the sky
Nice blue, slightly clouded sky.
It's peaceful and quite picture-perfect.
Most of all, I like the trees.
I like the old oaks
That tower over all others
And that spread elegantly out all around themselves.
To me, that is an image of utter beauty.
I could sit in a branch all day
From dawn to dusk.
If i am fortunate enough
From dusk to dawn again.
I try so hard to stay awake
push pin nails on shattered windows
the crust and glass of my aimless past
plagues my waking dreams
I am a broken crumbling
flesh and bone
monster
I
am
monster
I am broke.
I am but I slave to this matrix of
suffering

how do I maintain
this smiling face

how do I remain
in this friendless place
the angst haw crept within again i do not oft complain
but the poisons gotten far too full
the voices scream my name
you strangle me with black crow claws
and still the feelings sits
its seeping through my mind
that heavy weight
that cloying rind

i know i am insane
That grandiose colossus who
Stood astride
The envious assaults of sea
(Essaying, wave by wave,
Tide by tide,
To undo him, perpetually),
Has nothing on you,
O my love

O my great idiot, who
With one foot
Caught (as it were) in the muck-trap
Of skin and bone,
Dithers with the other way out
In preposterous provinces of the madcap
Cloud-cuckoo,
Agawp at the impeccable moon.
