Utopia
Vafa Batool Mar 2015
On a tree trunk, sat a little boy,
Thinking of life, thinking of the world.
His thoughts drifted to a world faraway
Where virtues fell as rain
And hearts spoke when words failed
A land so pure that knew no deceit
Where dwelled the righteous of men
A realm where the ruler and the ruled stood together
A gate of abundant glee opened its way
And a stream of goodness cascaded across
A land protected by valiant sentinels,
Flowing pastures that brewed loyalty
A land that shall remain only in the heart of that little boy,
Who sat on a tree trunk, thinking about life.

Crossroads
Vafa Batool Jul 2016
I was waiting on a junction,
Every path meeting at one point,
While dispersing out in all directions.
In the wilderness of possibilities,
I was a just confused little girl
Taken back, tugging to my mommy’s *****.
Who knew I would have to make choices
When the outcome is only disaster
What does it matter then
If I choose the yonder or farther route
For I will end up deranged whatever path I take.
when doubt starts to set in, i endeavor to make sure the paper and ink take a fair share of it from me.

Fear not
Vafa Batool Mar 2015
Disappear and vanish from the real world,
Runaway and get lost once in a while.
Let the late night winds find you ,
And allow the dragonflies to guide you home.
Climb up a tree, and sing.
Sing away your fears young love,
Your sorrows and melancholy would evaporate,
If you but let it go,
And let mother earth deal with it just this once.

No trust
Vafa Batool Jul 2016
Wading through unknown waters,
Wearily
Losing the power to fight
I held on to your grip
Hoping you’d hold me against surging torrents
But you only pushed me further into the currents.

progress
Vafa Batool Jul 2016
My mind is a wreck again today, but i didn't think about you.
I didn't need you.
moving on seems difficult when your feelings are still fresh, but once you're on the train of progress, there's no looking back.

You are me and I, you.
If we are of the same kind,
Why then do I see colours,
Where you see only black?
If the sun shines equally on both of us,
Why then does it leave me happy at night,
And you sad?
We’re from one progeny,
Why then do you feel so lost,
And I with a clear path ahead?
