I saw her there
and stood amazed

Her beauty pierced me soul
and could not cease

My only fear-
I cannot tell Birds from Bees
'Nother quick write. Writer's block dissappears and I reappear, though only for a short time.

Oh, the horror.
When the teardrops falling
On your shirt
Stain you the color of dying roses
And the pale eyelids
Flutter suddenly shut,
The cheek in your chest and
Weak arms
Begging impossible safety
From your helpless hands.

And the scream ripping out of you
Is as warm
And as hollow
As the body
Resting quiet and heavy
In your shaking arms.

Searched for my virtue.
Wandered, found my vice instead.
Been there ever since.

I want ocean air
and salty hair.

I want raspberry iced tea
and you and me.

I want hot sand
and to hold your hand.

I want endless nights
and glowing bonfire light.

I want a freckled face
and shirts made of lace.

I want heart shaped sunglasses
and kisses sweet as molasses.

I want flip flops on my feet
and your heart to keep.

I want summertime
and no goodbyes.

I will be your storyteller
Just stay here with me
We can show each other
Things we never would have believed

I will keep you company
At the end of every day
I will lull you off to sleep
If you let me stay

I will build a house
Made from hearts of oak
I will warm your water up
When you want a soak

I will write you poems
About the moon, the stars, the clouds, the sky
I will stay with you
Until the day I die

Because you're the one who's good to have around
You're the one I'm glad I found
I may not say I love you all the time
But I do,
My special valentine
