Arriving in Vienna
with a broken heart and
no place to place to go.
I wander the empty streets-
it's almost midnight and I
am in search of a distraction.
A bottle of wine later and
some good company by my side,
I think I might be alright.
It's one sleep 'til the new year and
I think I might be alright.

Dream in words and lines
They marinate
Black and white
Colors unimagined or named
The words awaken us and accomplish their feat
Do we dream verses?
Do they talk with us as if to say Write me down?
Record me
Take me to a higher level
Your fault if you forget
Sculpt me and find a fresh new way with me
My forever friend
Somehow you will accompany me now and forever more
So it goes and continues
Anatomy of a poem

Upon my waking hours,
I become a wildflower.

Slowly as my eyes open,
the mist clears, the fog
roll’s me over the hills
in my mind.

As the sun reveals her
glowing smile, dreams
fade into the darkness
as reality lights the world
bringing life to the shadows.

I am slowly aware of my freedom,
it’s like an itch burning to be
itched.

I am fully bloomed.

If I wasn't so serious
I'd sing Que Sera Sera
But I've seen the Crucifix
Heard lonesome desert prayers to Allah

I've got the Highway Blues
I've got parental worry
Yes, I got the emptiness
Hear the sound and fury

      I know I'm nothingness
            Please no hurry

The poems come from privacy
And return to isolation
Just can't break through
Hurl 'em in to Night

Hey, Prince Posterity
I wish you well I do
You can see me going down
But not without a fight
