Leave it to hello.poetry
To  showcase a poem
That people responded to
Bedtime by cloudy daze
So fun how people
Responded
Just awesome

Day draws  to a close
Darkness has appeared
The moon brightly shines
Leaving dancing shadows
On my blanket
Stars above twinkle
Hoping to join in the show
But there are too.many
Out there to join in the fun
There's a calmness in the air
Stilling the hearts all around
Time to settle in and breathe
In the magic of nighttime
Close your eyes and dream
Of a  new tomorrow
Let your worries diminish
Let lovely thoughts abound
Good night sleepy head
Good night
Mary Anne Norton Nov 2020
Ducks gliding gracefully
In the lake
Singing their song
Stilling  the waters
Such a peaceful sight
Oh for my soul
To glide gracefully upon
The land
Singing a song
And stilling my heart
Mary Anne Norton Aug 2020
My spiritual muse
Always comes at the right time
How greatful I am
Mary Anne Norton Oct 2020
Grey clouds sadden me
Bringinging up old memories
I thought disappeared
Mary Anne Norton Nov 2020
So i.made
A few mistakes
Spilling milk
On the floor
Bumping into you
Getting the wrong
Kind of bread
Singing a song
Laughing too loud
Running late
Missing your call
Forgetting our
Afternoon tea
The list goes on
But we were
Best girlfriends
In high school
And college didn't
Change that
Guilt me again
But when next
I see you
Guilt me some more
And I'll still
Be back for more.
Mary Anne Norton Sep 2020
Be careful
Don't drop
Fragile
Handle with care
A box containing
Who knows what
Perhaps something of
Value
How often do we
Drop
Are fragile
Are we valued
Enough
To be handled
With care
just saw a box that said handle with care

He was a Hansel
Of.sorts
Distributing crumbs
From his crumpled
Bag
For the geese
He left as quietly
As he came
With his dog
Mary Anne Norton Jan 2021
Whether masked
Or not
We cannot hide
May our true selves
Unfold
As we navigate
The year ahead
Our hands continue
To pen
Our hearts full
Of the beauty
Of Life
And may we
Just breathe

For the New Year

I wish you..

A pen of ink
That never
Stops flowing
Paper in abundance
A trashcan nearby
A dictionary.and thesaurus
And poetry nearby
A clear head
To focus
Memories soft
And warm
Experiences to write
About
New people to meet
And places to go
And love continuing
To grow
And when you go
To bed at night
Know you are loved
From above

A warm wish to you
And yours
Happy New Year
Mary Anne Norton Nov 2020
As Thanksgiving draws near
I want to thank my HP family
Thanks for letting me  sup
With you
Feasting on your words
Digesting them slowly
Savoring.the  tears and laughter
The warmth the sorrow
Topped with love
And nature
All of you have been
A blessing to.me
And for this I am grateful
A warm toast
To all of you

Happy Virtual Thanksgiving
To you and your Family

He
She folded his shirt
For the very last time
Tears washing any trace of food
Her baby was gone
All she had left
Were the memories
She would now tuck away
Next to his teddy bear
Waiting to be held
Mary Anne Norton Oct 2020
Drumming through my head
This pain won't go away
Just hopes it stops soon
Mary Anne Norton Dec 2020
You are someone
Who makes an indentation
Even in a heart
Of stone
Your warm smile
Melts away the chill
Of a cold heart
The sound of
Your voice
Makes your
Heart beat
The love you
Have
The love you
Share
Makes the world
A better place
Mary Anne Norton Jan 2021
I tried to send
You a message
From candy.hearts
Instead they melted
In my mouth
And not your heart
Just had some candy hearts. This poem
Wasn't meant for anyone in particular.
Just sent it out there.
Mary Anne Norton Nov 2021
I can pen away
Any time of day or night
Someone else is out there
Mary Anne Norton Sep 2020
Crying the night away
Not waiting for dawn
Tears sustaining me
Feeding upon my sadness
Hopelessness written
Throughout my.being
Death where is
Your sting
Anger at was and
Is to come
What could and
Should have been
Perhaps there is
A solution

Happy New Year...
In the coming year
May you be
Blest with
Thoughts to share
A Dictionary and thesaurus
And Reference
Nearby
Papers to write on
And napkins too
Pens and pencils
An eraser or two
A good book
Of poetry
Rumi will do
Laughter and sadness
Will play a big part
Keep open your hearts
And let yourself go
May you have words
And best of health
Thank you for touching
Me
And touching
The world
Happy New Year

So bleak the weather
Outside
Reminds me how I
Feel  within
Perhaps a good
Poem
Will bring out
The sun
So I'll head for
Hello Poetry
And read some
Amazing poems
And let the
Sun.flow through
Mary Anne Norton Oct 2020
Hello morning sun
Lighting up my room
Thought I left
The light on
Don't need a light

You know just
When.to
Turn.off and on
Sun burst through my room this morning and woke me up thats a glorious feeling

As you lay helpless
Upon the hardened concrete
Let me be of use
So many people without a home
Without a friend
What can I do?
Mary Anne Norton Oct 2020
It's a poet's dream
A banquet of hidden words
Now fresh on display
Mary Anne Norton Dec 2020
I've run out
Of places to hide
Somehow you manage
To find me
Is it my
Pounding heart
Or maybe my
Tangled hair
Are my legs
Hanging out
It didn't help
That I just
Sneezed
I can't go now
There's nowhere
Else to go
Sometimes you just feel the need to hide
to escape todisappear
Mary Anne Norton Nov 2021
She should have
The cleanest room
She stays there
All day long
Hiding
From you
Hiding
From me

Everybody come out free

Laboring in the
Morning sun
Tears of sweat
Dripping down
His back
Wheeling buckets of
Cement blocks
To. the neighbor's
Backyard
The only sound
You could hear
Was the song
Coming from
His heart

I feel turned around
Left foot should be right foot

I don't mind waiting
Knowing I'll get what I need

Don't have to travel

Mary Anne Norton Aug 2020
Hoping for a day
Where we can
Put our sins
To death
And let love
Rise above
The ashes
And scatter
All around
Mary Anne Norton Nov 2020
Oh for hot chocolate
To warm my thoughts and my toes
I'm ready to go
How
Mary Anne Norton Nov 2020
How
How can I cry
When I have
Opened my eyes
How can I
Be mad
When I could
Put my feet
Upon the ground
Unassisted
How can I
Give up
When a Life
Has just been taken
How can I quit
When I have
Only.just
Begun
It may seem
Dark
But light.is
Hiding
Peeking behind
Covered clouds
Mary Anne Norton Sep 2020
How do you know
Who to bully
Who to make cry
Till their well
Runs dry
Burn their soul
Till ashes are left
Leave bruises on
Their skin
And scars on
Their heart
Degrading so low
Making it hard
To get up
Do they wear a tag
Saying crush me
I'm yours
Or perhaps worn out
Clothes or nonbathed skin
From sleeping on the ground
What is the clue
Even geese  go after
An unsuspecting victim
How do they know
Who to taunt
With powerful wings
And fast webbed feet
Are we no less then
The animals
Mary Anne Norton Sep 2020
How is it possible
To catch every
Beam from the
Moon
Every ray from the
Sun
Every pebble from the
Sand
Every blade of grass
To walk upon
How can.i count each star
And make them add up
To You
Darkness is coming
The sun has quit shining
While the moon is  a winking
The sparkling pebbles in
The sand wait for morning sun
And grass waits for morning dew
To freshen up
And you my Creator
Stay with me day and night
Mary Anne Norton Oct 2020
How pretty the sky's
Painted canvas
Hues of.blushing pink
Soft blues in the distance
Snowy white clouds
Sifting through
Perhaps with a tinge
Of lavender
What a joy to
See this heavenly
Display
The Creator displayed
Just for you
Mary Anne Norton Oct 2020
You have filled me
With song
Giving me words
To sing
Your words and
Poetry touch
My heart
And together
Make music
Thank you
As we all
Sing in
Harmony

Sing me a lullaby
To sleep
Of words to dream
Before I sleep
As waves from the ocean
Come crashing through
Let me hear sounds
With your words
A walk in the sand
Whats it feel  like between
Concrete trodden feet
How about farm animals
Loud sounds low sounds
Speaking back to you
People here people there
People people everywhere
Or none ar all
Maybe a desert
Even a hermitage
A cell a bungalow
Smells from the
Open market
Fishy smells greasey smells
Rosy smells soapy smells
Do you bike it
Or hike it
Surf it walk it
Fly it ride it
Oh sing to me
Let thr lyrics flow
Hard times happy times
Get up and go times
Mmm can taste the food
Spicy bland aromatic
Are you happy or you sad
Lonely or surrounded
How's your spirit
Free flowing prayerful
Greatful empty
Wheres it put
A cathedral Church
Masque Temple
All within
Are you hot or cold
Morning  or night
I need some sleep
Dear Universe
Wrap me in your song
Mary Anne Norton Oct 2020
We are a flawed people
Scarred people
Lonely happy sad
People
Loving caring sharing
People
Flowing glowing growing
People
Near far reach the star
People
Hurting sporting
People
Earthy worthy holy
People
Crying dying
People
No matter what people
We may be
We share and uphold
One another
Through  and from
Our.beating heart
And our pen  and paper
Are our ammunition
Of love
I

So goodnight my someone
Goodnight
If
Mary Anne Norton Aug 2020
If
If I tied all my lost socks
Together
I could make a ladder
And climb to the moon
Or meet Jack and the beanstalk
Rapunzel  could let down
My golden socks
I could gather the people
On the block and we could
Play tug o war
Maybe even tether ball
If  I could find my other.sock
I could wear both my shoes
If I could find my
Other shoe
IF
Mary Anne Norton Sep 2020
IF
If Mary said no
To be the Mother of God
Would we still be here
Mary Anne Norton Oct 2020
I feel a poem
Coming
Through masses
Of thoughts
And words
But nothing
Seems to transpire
Only the day
Gone by
Mary Anne Norton Oct 2020
The moon sits
Patiently in
The sky
Waiting for me
To look up
And say goodnight
Stars loosing their glitter
Waiting for acknowledgement
Planets dancing  for
A word of praise
The big dipper
Waiting to scoop up
A peek or two
Oh such a universal
Display at night
If I would
Just look
Up
Mary Anne Norton Oct 2020
And if not for you
My family who held me strong
I would not have bloomed
After all these years my family of origin
Have held me tight iam a work in progress
With strong support
Mary Anne Norton Oct 2020
I forgot how.
To smile
The darkness covered
My heart
I forgot how
To sing
The melody got lost
I forgot how
To laugh
Nothing seemed funny
I forgot how
To read
Nothing was on
The page
I forgot how
To write
Words wouldn't come
I forgot how
To play
I put my games away
I forgot how
To live
To enjoy the walk
Of life
I forgot how
To love
Perhaps there
Never was
Though I forgot
Perhaps I should
Remember

Of milk and honey
When did it sour
And lose its' sweetness
Or did it
