Today I bled blue
Poems inked upon my bare arms
Await translation

No alarm needed
A cloud burst of red and orange
Gently entered the room

The  cold wind slapped me
In the face
And brought me
To my senses
Such activity in
The early morning
Grey
Two unexpected gulls
Just enjoying the sky
Dancing over the lake
Taking a bow
Dipping in the
Cold water
For curtain closes
A baby cardinal
Calling in the sky
One two three testing
Her vocal chords
And the resounding
Of birds
Answering her call
Dark purples and grays
Line the sky
And  the movement
Of the lake quickens
Stillness all around
Peace overflowing
I'm no longer cold
Nature has warmed
My heart

Words I want to say
        Too hard to express out loud
               Replaced by
       Alphabet Tiles

A robe of many colors
Kept you warm.when
You were sick.
You didn't have to tell.us
But quietly put it on.
Trying to hide the pain
Trying to make us laugh
When you hurt so bad.
I liked when you wore your
Jeans and.shirt
Knowing you.felt well.
Now you are gone
And I wear your love
In.my heart

I take a breath
And breathe in
The morning sound
Of geese honking
With their peers
Watching wet snow
Melting on the ground
I listen as morning
Conversation begins
And hot tea
With milk of course
Awakens me
Won't think of the
News announcing
More dead bodies
And crying souls
And wondering
Why it's so
Hard to put on
A mask
And keep the
Distance
Nor wonder about
The future
Instead I'll say
A silent prayer
For all lives lost
Through hate
And sickness
And natural causes
And love
And resolve to
Lead a Life
Good enough
For one more breath

You said you
Counted fifty geese
When I was happy
I had counted ten

Her hands for many things
Embracing her children
Patching up boo boos
Carrying shopping bags
Cooking for others
Pushing her cart
Picking out vegetables
Folding her hands
So lovingly in prayer
The rosary she held
So tight in her hands
As the beads slipped gracefully
At each Hail  Mary
And now she's in Heaven
Where she can see Mary

I looked out the door
And just peeked out the Window
Just for a no show

Light shadows
Dancing in the wind
Warming in the sun
Sunny figures
Dancing on the
Ground
Shadows disappearing
As the sun
Fades away

Where are the children
There's no running or shouting
Children of the block

Ready to watch
You get ready
To fish
Is the glory
In the catch
Of the fish
Or the getting ready

I tried to send
You a message
From candy.hearts
Instead they melted
In my mouth
And not your heart

You whittled away
My hopes my dreams and my joy
Leaving the remains

Read between the lines
Verticals horizontals
That can't  be expressed
The ups and downs
The all arounds
When you finish
Handle with care

What a day outside
A glorious breeze laughing
Dancing through the air

Gracefully the cat
Circled around its'
Owners' legs
Purring louder
To be held
And stroked
Gently down her spine
Having been satisfied
A sip of milk
Upon sandpaper lips
Would do
A spot in the
Warm sun
Would do nicely
And a dream
Of catching a mouse
Even better

We say we have no money
Did we look down at
The worn out shoes
Earth stained blood stained
Pus stained putrid smelling
Shoes of the homeless
We say we're broke with
Nothing to spare
Did we look up at
Earth stained blood stained

We want our name brand pants
Did we look in the middle at

Perhaps the homeless
Are the rich ones
They've been through it all

Traveling in worn out shoes baggy pants hole threaden tops
They felt the sun beat
Down on their backs
The moon and stars
lighting the way
And newly acquired friends
Sleeping  on benches
They are rich with the
Love they share
Next time we say
We're broke
Perhaps we can put
Some.money  in a can
Or a donated coffee
Perhaps with extra
Cream and sugar
We will always have
The poor with us
So let's open the door
Let them through
With dignity
And perhaps a dollar
Or two

Sometimes it's hard
To laugh
When others
Are crying
Harder to live
When others
Are dying
When others around
Have plenty to eat
Yet right next door
There is no meat
A house of
Friends
Day in and
Day out
Let all alone
With no one
About
Abath of bubbles
With plenty
To spare
Yet you go
***** smelly
And bare
While choosing closets
Of shoes
To wear
Your shoes are full
With no holes
To spare
A limo.just goes
Speeding by
As for you
A dumpster standing
By
You don't have
Change
A dollar would do
To  put in
Your worn pocket
And make you
Feel new
May you be loved
With each crumb
You beg
And get a new
Soap for your
Bleeding leg
If I see you again
In one more line
May I stop what
I'm doing and

Some time

Sadness is all.around
From early morning news
To nightly news

Happiness is shared

To chase the demons

Sitting by the window
Collecting my thoughts
How little they
May seem
I feel something stir
Within and without
Its not the sound
Of words
Churning through
My head
But rather
The tip.toeing.of
Rain
Across the window

That peanutbutter sandwich
Looks so good
Oodles of nuts and crunch
Seeping out of homemade bread
A glass of cold milk
To wash it down
Celery sticks and carrots
Green as grass
Orange as the sun
A Shiny red apple
Looks like it's been polished
And ready to bite
Napkins for sticky fingers
And juicy hands
You said you would share
I didn't have to ask
You already made it
Just for me
Let's eat our sandwich together
Drinking our milk
Crunching our veggies together
Letting the juice
Drip down from our chin
Wipe off our hands
And share our time together

This dreary kind of day
Blurs my mind
With unsettling
Thoughts
Unlike a camera
I cannot focus
Or capture
What is before

I hear my mom sing
As she makes dinner for us
How I miss her song

In the snowy evening sky

Brillance
On the.snow covered

The trees are bare
Having lost her
Garment of

White glistening snow
Will soon

A poem breathed

My senses
Visualizing colors

And moonfilled night

Smelling stinky feet

Someone's home
Homemade bread
Fresh fallen rain
Tasting crunchy apples
Sipping herbal tea
Hearing yapping dogs
And the crackling logs
From the fireplace
Touching baby's  toes
Or sandpaper
Thouhts were overflowing
Of the wonder of
It all
Grabbed a pen
And paper
And a poem
Was born

All I did was stare
When you quickly walked by me
And left me alone

As you lay helpless
Upon the hardened concrete
Let me be of use

Yesterday the lights
From Santa's reindeer
Twinkled in the
Grey morning light
Today as I pass by
The reindeer is gone
Till another year

Sparkle

They are dim
I should dispel
Any darkness
And let the

Of life
Out from the nether world
And into the arena

Happy words sad words
Break the heart in half words
Words to whisper
Words to shout
Words that should have
Been said
Perhaps some I've heard
Should not
Words can be put to Life
To create or destroy
Words are a powerful thing
Must be put together
Wisely

Like a lone duck
In the lake
Surrounded by water
And no one
To share it with
Other times I feel
Like a happy duck
Surrounded by water
And friends to
Share it with
Sometimes I feel
The sun
Reaching from the sky
Patting me dry
With her rays
Other times i.feel
The rain
Falling from the sky
Dancing off my back
Sometimes I feel
The leaves falling
From the trees
Tickling my bill
And someiles I
Feel the wind
Blowing at my feathers
Making me smile

The sky puts on
A show
Free admission
For those who

Soft clouds of tutu pink
And cottoncandy blue
And the sun
Banana yellow
With aquarium blue
Backdrop
The sight is
Astounding
Come back tomorrow
A new day full
Of surprise

The clouds are faded purple
Moisture is in the air
But the breeze so gentle
Whispers crost my cheek
Birds are flying
Squirrels tagging
Feels like it's gonna rain
Hope it pours down buckets
To water the earth
And cleanse my soul

Geese are honking
Flying overhead
Time to.put
Dinner on
Owls are hooting
Time for bed
Roosters crowing
Time to get up
Cows are moo ing
Time for milking
Dogs barking
Waiting to be walked
While  cats purr
Waiting for milk
How do animals
Know what time
It is
What happens when
You Spring forward
Fall back

You were so good  to me
When no one else was
You took me for who i was
Though it wasn't much
You laughed at my
Jokes
When others just stared
And guided me
When there was no
Light to follow
Saying it would
Be okay
When you knew
It was not
Drying up tears
Picking me up
Again and again
You never let me down
But then
You never were

Today some will breathe
A new breath in
And others
Anew breathe out
Breathe in
Breathe out
Breathe in a new day
Of fresh beginnings
And possibilities
Look all around
Under rocks where
Insects hide
And up above
Where stars twinkle
In the Night
At the water
That ripples at
The breath of wind
At trees with
Open arms
And people to

Don't even know
And as we breathe

May it be filled

Blessed memories
And hopefully surrounded
By those we love
If that isn't possible
May love be
Remembered
As we prepare

Journey ahead

My life floats before me
On A foamy cloudy cream
Where heated hands
Carress a cup
Big blobs of settling cream
Remind me of my
Should haves could haves
Would haves
As I shake the cup
Around for a new display
I see tiny droplets
Wait
Are those my tears

I thought you were
A contradiction
Tearing me apart
Piece by piece
From your ego
Driven heart
Nothing sustained you
Happily bruising
My soul
Leaving me unmercifully
Ready to fight back
You expected war
But I came
To bring peace

Start day in color
Splashes of pinks and yellows
End in charcoal grey

Am I ready to
Take on a new day
Meet Life's gifts and challenges
The sun peeking through
The window
Dressing the clouds in
Blues and pinks
Morning roll call
As birds chirp tree
To tree
Thoughts scatter through
My mind
Can i do everything
That must be done
Its a new day
Time to get up

I turn around
And see you
With your warm smile .
Your love and laughter fill the air.
It cannot echo back
For you are no longer around,
But in Spirit.
Let me get a glimpse of you
While my tears trickle down
Drop by drop
Upon my aching heart.
The memories are sweet
Just not to the touch.
But  forever in my heart
