Soaking in all the sadness
Sending out much love

This morning I caught
Nature showing off
No holding back
Forest green grass
Still sparkling from
Morning dew
Geese honking hello
Snapping twigs across my path
The mist upon the water
The clouds of purple chiffon
Bright yellow flowers
Dancing in the breeze
What a sight to behold
If only we open our eyes
And feel with our heart

The UPS truck
Just turned around
The corner
I hoped it would

Watching college football.games
Where are the masked fans

No children today
No laughter learning
reading fun
At least not for me
Today is my
First day without
My babies
I miss them already
I just retired
Now I'll  have to learn
Something new
My students my friends
Work hard learn about
All life has to offer

Squirrel running fast
Carrying his winter food
Just waiting to hide

Oh so many tears
Drip by Drip they quickly.fell

Look around and you will see

With covid and all

The school bell had its

No more announcements
Last bus walk

A new one has begun

Trembling hands can

My visiting the library
A shelvers' nightmare
Thumbed through books
Painstakingly sought out
Piles of books
Circled around the table
Waiting for their place
In numerical order
Oh what joy they brought
Such knowledge to me
My hands blackened
From the print
Tough decision to make
Which ones to leave behind
Perhaps a dog-eared page
Will lead me to my find

It's a tough world
Out there
The turtle surmised
Crawling back into
His shell

Words racing through
My cluttered mind
Past moons of light
And galaxies of stars
Oceans crashing by
Songs sung before
Grasses dancing
In the breeze
Cats crawling softly
Between my legs
Dogs with their
Head in my lap
Words playing cat
And mouse
My eyes growing
Weary
My thoughts
Caving in
Just one more
Verse before
I tuck in

It took a village
To get me in

Thought I was ready
To face the day
With her aches and pains
And her bouquet
Of surprises
For Nature's kisses
And long lost tears
Joy at each moment
Every step of the way
To enlighten me
Or hurdles to cross
And move on

Not ready yet

Funny how silly
Little things bother you
Like whether an
E is put in your name
Or your first and middle name
Never spelt out
Do people actually
Read what you
Write for your
Documents  
Maybe it sounds silly
But my name
Was spelt that way
For a special reason
And that I hold dearly

Music is a balm
Oh so gently touching me
Healing deep my soul

Drumming through my head
This pain won't go away
Just hopes it stops soon

The earth is a
Kingdom of
Surprises
Golden leaves
And flowers that
Bloom
Silver threads sparkling
In home spun webs
Diamonds in the
Night sky
Ruby red the
Setting sun
Emerald green
The dew covered grass
Pearly white
The crescent moon
Bronze colored fields
Of whispering wheat
And we the royal
Court
Have all of
These treasures
To share

If I tied all my lost socks
Together
I could make a ladder
And climb to the moon
Or meet Jack and the beanstalk
Rapunzel  could let down
My golden socks
I could gather the people
On the block and we could
Play tug o war
Maybe even tether ball
If  I could find my other.sock
I could wear both my shoes
If I could find my
Other shoe

Sitting i wait
For an answer
The time is
Drawing nigh
Thoughts dizzying
My already
Overworked mind
Tossing over and over
Like my clothes
In the dryer
Do I have
An answer
Maybe I never should
Have anxiously
Awaited
When the answer
Was here
All along

He wore his robe
When he was sick
He didn't have to
Tell us
He just put it on
Today ix the anniversary
Of his death
Tonight I will
Put it on
And take a magic
Carpet ride
I will.travel back in time
Where siblings bond together
Loving and yes maybe sometimes
Even fighting
He wasn't a fighting kind of guy
So not many
Playing hard with his brothers
Teasing his sisters
As he grew older.
Acting and writing
Were his song
When he no longer could drive
We went to Dr. Visits
On the bus
But we always had fun
So tonight
I will put your robe on

A.nd let you  wrap
me with your wings

Walking at a turtle's pace
Collecting my thoughts
Nature adorned in beauty
And telling sounds
Crackling.leaves beneath my feet resounding in prayer
An acorn falling
With a Great Amen
Animals in harmony
In such a melodious sight
Alleuiias abound throughout
With blessings
From above

A movie to see

Christmas lights you
So enjoyed
The Charlie brown tree
You had in your room.
With dangling gifts
Of pencils and.small
Trinkets for
The nieces and nephews
To choose from
Yes even one for me
The Christmas gifts
Wrapped in newspaper
And you never knew
What you would find
Oh but for your
Laughter and stories
And love to
Last the whole
Year round
You are no
Longer with us
But your love
So deeply given
Will forever be
In our.hearts
To stay
