Mary Anne Norton Nov 2020
If we are the land
Of milk and honey
When did it sour
And lose its' sweetness
Or did it
Mary Anne Norton Nov 2020
Sometimes something is
Right in front
Of us
We miss it
But it may
Never be seen
Again
We are one like the trees
Grow with a tiny seed
Planted like the roots to grow
Watered and sowed
Taking time to age
Learning along the way
Broken branches
Tiny holes
Cracking at the seems
Yet growing stronger
Into a beautiful, loving tree
Mary Anne Norton Nov 2020
I have struggled before
And I will struggle again
Do I get up.from
Where I have fallen
Or do I just stay
Planted on the floor
Do I rise above
Or sink below
Perhaps I shall cover
Myself with thoughts
And let words
Take over
Mary Anne Norton Nov 2020
My poem is ruined
As water washes
Away my thoughts
Was dropping my
Cold glass of
Tangerine sparkling water
A deliberate act
Or did I really
Have something
To say
Mary Anne Norton Nov 2020
Covid dreams racing
Through my mind
Going at full speed
Avoiding obstacles
Along the way
One hurdle after
Another
Avoiding crashing
But cannot brake
Spinning in circles
Stirring up dust
And making
Lots of noise
Where is the
Finish line
I ask
Gasping for air
Mary Anne Norton Nov 2020
Tossing and turning
Thoughts are swarming through my mind
Busy as a bee
