I see your name
and say it softly
aloud.
I see your name
and cannot help
but smile.
pain is temporary
still I crave its fuel
feeding hunger, burning
through darkness,
wafer moon teases
naked trees
blanching sleek limbs
running away
from desperate crowds
that sting my senses,
from curses singeing
midnight nerves,
I am
a warrior
in No Man's Land

Me and You
Orion still
hunting the
Pleiades still
gracing
the night sky and Sirius -
ablaze with light -
still witness
to all this
while you
see everything
for the first time
and I am glad
you see it
"The moon and the Pleiades have set,
it is midnight,
and the time is passing,
but I sleep alone."

This is the Midnight Poem, an ancient fragment of poetry, author unknown.
I come across it while thinking about the Alhambra, the court with the lion fountain... a poem in the wall... and then the poem mentions the Pleiades... and then I look out of my bedroom window and see it. Speechless.
Tears of the world
a salt tide that floods
feeding the marshes
windswept waiting places
sentinels of the hollow margins
lonely but for the cries of birds
wading the cracks where land meets sky and endless water
at the edge
of something and nothing

Me and You
The snow fox hops
into the
snow
head first
and topples over
never mind though
