It takes two
If you are lucky
A Lifetime
Remember ignorance is not bliss in this situation
Patience, kindness and say I Love You
No longer the time
No matter what others say
You should know in every cell in your body
Nice to hear
Better to share
As you jump the hurdles
This is your one and only
You put your heart and soul into this patnership
Loving them better

My part time gig but fascinating
Takes patience,and honesty
I am dubbed the Detective because I  seek til I find the answer
Always surprised with results and pleased
There is so much out there
Seek and you shall find
Research

Tell the truth
Memories matter
You only lie to protect someone's feelings
Stop judging and hurting others
It is Pride Weekend
What business is it of your who someone lives or sleeps with?
What goes on behind closed doors is private
Mind your business
It is more than agreeing to disagree
The world has its issues but together we can sound it out
Worry about yourself
Your family
Your friends
As a straight married woman sounding it out for my friends who are LGBTQ
Sound it out

RED
It was the day you felt so awake,
Looking so weak—too tired to fake.
You spoke of dreams, but not with cheer,
You softly whispered, “I’m going, dear.”

Maybe you were shedding silent tears,
But it made my heart break, pierced by fears.
No final hug, no reason why,
Just aching silence in your eyes.

And then you disappeared…

half way to hell

The rocks on the bluff were waiting
The tide rushed in and out
The gulls knew their poetess was coming
They got treats and fish, leaving me be
A neighbor said Come join us
Get a manicure and chat
She left the beach
Never do coffee
Never do manicures
You will never know how great being a loner is
Term in Yiddish is Yenta
Not me or my style

School is a building, not the only place for learning
Trips happened every month when I taught
Museums, Outdoor events, anything to capture an imagination
Many parents did not take their children anywhere
According to the kids
As much as I could, we did something about it
The library was not visited by many
With permission, they visited once a week
They got library cards
Parents complained, not returning books, not paying fees
Never anytime
So when we visited weekly
Books were returned
A young librarian asked if she could work with my students
Not only was this weekly, but some students were her interns after school
Some went home to a lonely home, or hung out wherever that was
The Key was to meet a member of the community; they never would have
Hopefully, I opened more than a door
The key
