They say I must have sorrow
the type they own and carry always
but I do not know where to find or buy it
would it be in an unblemished past left pristine
or perhaps in hard toil and gainful honest endeavors
perhaps in meetings and partings well made and gratifying
or the laughter and light shared sincerely, unstintingly with others
could it be hiding in my open generosity or help rendered to pals
maybe it lurks in my mannerly and respectful ways with all I know
Ah! all those random kids and animals that always seem to like me
do you think, perhaps they all had sorrow and I missed it all along
I don't know, I really don't know
I even searched within, looked into secret places
but they all just contain smiles, laughter, warm memories
some had records of jobs well done, of sounding deeds and love
of enduring achievements, laudable out-lays and pats and thumbs up
one or two places held honest mistakes made but also had apologies
a place had anger but it also contained justifiable before it, I'm human
Ah you're stuck they say, that's sorrowful and sad they cackle meanly
but I live and breathe, see, hear, feel and taste, some others don't, see!
Yes, but you're lonely and friendless, how about that, tell us Sunshine
No! lonely not, for I have family, I have God and I have books, music
They say they'll cause me sorrow
Sages say you have sorrow to cause others sorrow
so look within yourself and know you carry more burden
The truth its known, will set you free but hide from it and fester
Truth and justice are the edifying spine and laws of social order
where does truth lives when lies are hurl to fling sorrow to others
more sorrow merely fills the emptiness of sorrowfuls' an they hurt
I cannot find sorrow, my conscience unaffected, my mind joyous so
pray the Creator offers solace to those in pain and help all afflicted
remove the logs in damaged eyes as they seek to remove the speck
their sorrows see in those still unable to find that elusive sorrow
never judge someone's character based on the words of another. Instead, study the motives behind the words of the person casting the bad judgment. An honest woman can sell tangerines all day and remain a good person until she dies, but there will always be naysayers who will try to convince you otherwise. Perhaps this woman did not give them something for free, or at a discount. Perhaps too, that she refused to stand with them when they were wrong — or just stood up for something she felt was right. And also, it could be that some bitter women are envious of her, or that she rejected the advances of some very proud men. Always trust your heart. If the Creator stood before a million men with the light of a million lamps, only a few would truly see him because truth is already alive in their hearts. Truth can only be seen by those with truth in them. He who does not have Truth in his heart, will always be blind to her
