Lord Byron
Breeze of the night in gentler sighs
  More softly murmur o’er the pillow;
For Slumber seals my *****’s eyes,
And Peace must never shun her pillow.

Or breathe those sweet æolian strains
  Stolen from celestial spheres above,
To charm her ear while some remains,
And soothe her soul to dreams of love.

But Breeze of night again forbear,
  In softest murmurs only sigh:
Let not a Zephyr’s pinion dare
To lift those auburn locks on high.

Chill is thy Breath, thou breeze of night!
  Oh! ruffle not those lids of Snow;
For only Morning’s cheering light
May wake the beam that lurks below.

Blest be that lip and azure eye!
Sweet *****, hallowed be thy Sleep!
Those lips shall never vent a sigh,
Those eyes may never wake to weep.
Fair rose, now that thou art picked in the prime
Of thy breathtaking splendour to go bloom
By strands of pearl of very far a clime,
Upon roads of life I deserve no room
But as the wind bids adieu unto hills,
The lonely woods, the indignant still cloud,
The silent vales, the gently rolling rills,
As such, I must vade to another world;
But hark! Fair star, though snowy angels fair
In countless numbers bedeck heaven's shore,
Eternal flames of brightest love so rare
By my soul shalt blaze for thee evermore.
So, until then when we shall meet again,
My love for thee as fresh as summer rain.

#attempt at a Shakespearean sonnet
#decasyllabic
#iambic pentameter
Written when news sprinkled into mine ear that she who kindled my soul with the brightest spark of love was going to walk to walk down the aisle.
me thinks a sonnet is very hard to write
putting it on paper doth require skill
one must show the ease of a carefree kite
whence applying each and every ink spill
there's no room for bad mistakes being made
the formatting should carry the right tone
as stated by Will who knew of poetic trade
penning many hundreds in iambic cone
one did dare Shakespeare's enduring trail
on attempting his fourteen line layout
oh yes the challenging road did prevail
depicting a time honoured rhyming rout
with couplet concise one shall fly away
leaving a poem of red roses in May

A baby born but not a grudge he bares;
Whose blood so clean and pure like mountain spring,
Yet unblemished by scandals, love affairs,
And not a pinch of what sorrow could bring.
And deep in sleep too young to know of love
And lust, of crime was done because of shame.
Of shame of ****** moments that drove
To dump him cold naked without a name.
He knows not now of being called outcast.
But hate would come and callous jibes would tear
His heart as he grows and knew his past.
Their wage of sin for decades he'll bear.
What Devine assignment on him seeing,
Like blissful saint in quiet contemplating.

The teacher's eyes gathered colours about
The cultured garden scene she knew so well;
She likes the section flowers nicely sprout
Her hidden world where varying colours jell.
Achievers pride she takes with all her heart;
Like outstanding pupils she proudly groomed.
But scrappy lazy ones, never seems to start,
She wished them luck and left alone to bloom.
The sun regardless shines on all juniors.
The bright ones, the brats she pitied a lot.
Through years and wise by age she remembers,
Oft visiting her those she had forgot,
Those she loved and cared have whittled away.
But strugglers now trees they weathered to stay.

After
Being fished
Pulled out of a storm
None will be more welcome
More important that would eased
Than a piece of blanket to keep warm
A piece of blanket thick insulating him in
Wrapping this bony body wrinkled shivering
Blanket breathing his every breath from within
A consolation for the toils and voices lamenting
For freedom exodus from butchery and hunger
The nation bleeds of men women and children
Soldiers maim and **** to serve their dictator
He tugged his blanket tight his only mate
Sipping coffee stares the frigid water
Politics will determine his fate
For now free and warm
To live another
Storm.
This is to the human catastrophe called Syria

Jude kyrie
have always been a dreamer
Even as a little boy
I have dreamed a lot
I loved blowing bubbles
Watching them fly so high like my dreams .

When I sat next to her at junior school.
I think it was then I fell in love with her.
She treated me like her puppy dog.
I thought it was love back then.
But it was just another bubble.

At the high school,
I was still in love with her
She had become more like a woman then.
Her softness abounding
She let me carry her books home.
And was my date at the prom.
She wore my corsage
And kissed me goodnight
after the dance was over.
I thought it was love
But it was just another bubble.

We went to college together
She became a radical
I hate all men she said.
I softly said I am a man.
Not you, she whispered
and took me to her bed.
I thought it was love
But it was Just a bigger bubble..

I attended her wedding today
She looked so beautiful.
No one noticed the tears in my eyes.
I closed them tight to hold them back
And I saw myself
standing next to her
At that altar.
I silently  mouthed the words
I do, in unison
With her new husband.

For just a moment
I felt her as my wife.
and that she loved me.
But it was only
my last bubble popping.
