French kissed by the sun
Those warm lengths caress
Cascading down your body
Drawing forth your scent
Pushing goosebumps away

Like wearing something
Pulled directly from the drier
Covering and an all over feeling
Static electricity, sorted down
Stretching from hairs to a shimmer

Working a caramel, from the oven
Warm through your fingers
Gooey, sugary and messy
Stretching from hand to hand
As you play, a thick treat

Fingers play, and steal a kiss
Work delicious candies
From unspeaking lips and
Silken thighs, against chest
I eat a caramel candied dipped
After the birth of morning
The maturity of the sun
Driving the leaves to grow
Grasses, deep and green
Reaching for the warmth

After noon's heavy heat
Siesta's come and gone
Shadow's time begins
At first, a gradual pace
Deceivingly slow

They lay in wait, watching
The sun's retreat across the sky
Falling to the Earth, coming down
Loosing its power, darkness creeping
The day trying to stretch itself long

Say your prayers on heavy breath
But not for night's stare or embrace
Head for home, bar your door
Children and wives, in pantry's store
Men behind doors, cower, the storm

Rift in time, a seam in the between
Night and day, that which comes
Slips through now, gasping for air
Creatures not of the dark or of day
Only hungry for anything, scared

Twilight creatures, neither human
Nor bear, not wolf, either some
Or both, something between
Feathered, some; tufts of fur
Defying demons, angels both

The run, fearing the heavy night
Here, not for long, just to feast
Catch stray cattle, chicken or child
A raptor from the skies
Or beast jaws wide

The heat of light, retreating
Draws them forth, eyes glinting
Small, beady and cunning
Intelligent malice minded
Chittery cries before night

Tendency to violence, panic
Sometimes sheltered, closeted
Built for speed, cornered and fright
Desperate in their time
A brief interlude, nothing right

Lust for the fresh death
A ****, they'll come together
Feast, and eat in lust
Flurry of feathers, disgust
Hair and fur, they demand

Clenched knuckles, white
On stick and stone, any weapon
A man might hold, protect the home
Thicken oaken doors, seem thin
Windows boarded, watch sun demise

Gaunt cheeks show shadowed, sunken eyes
From too many hard days near end
Always hungry, fearful work, never enough time for work and sleep
Some, drunk, heavy on spices, deep drink
Seeking solace in cups, not protection in men

This village is ******, think old women
Gathered children to hem
Little enough cloth, even for them
Living rags, less human than men
Desperate eyes, from fires and then

A blow from wind, maybe spirit or sin
Hushes hearth fires, extinguishes light
Light scratches at windows, claw
Cloying smells of dirt, **** and death
Seeps through cracks to tight to caulk

A thud on the roof, steps too heavy
Shaking the dust from the ceilings
Drifting like morning fog
A silence, the moments hang
Dread, deep seated to bone

Then the frightened scurry
Talon and claws, scramble
The whoosh and flap of wing
Heavy footed bodies rush in
With the dark, something comes

The little creatures of twilight
Flitter, chittering back to whence
Leaving small tracks, slightly
Bigger than man, maybe
One carried through, kicking

Away they go, but not all
Competing with the powers
That drew forth the deep dark
Hunted like little creatures they are
They rush back, to the seam, the cold

Men, women and children
Still away they hold, another scare
Another night, breathing silent
In fear, tears fall, like horrors
Stalking the seam, in the night
Whispering night
Your arousal is apparent
Dripping breaths upon
Children's dreams
And fearful crones

Your coming to is deceitful
On heels of sunset's demise
A leg's length, slowly falling
Against a navel background
Sparkling drowning diamonds

Listen now, to its rictus grin
Great full lips, stained dark red
Wrapped around dinners, snacks
Long fingers pick, pluck and snap
Feral jaws work, bone and sinew

Hair tussled but not undone
Not out of place, habitually hungry
Disguising true shape, lies to men
Ravenous eye shine through
Sparkling lights out of place

Not strange to be prey
To this creature, daughter of night
We've grown accustomed, lost
Finding safety in artificial light
Ever she is, on its edge

Patient and less leery,
It's not fires, our path to light
It doesn't burn, indeed it seems
She has seen, watching Children
Touch bedside lights, just off

From between floors, walls
She hides, touching, running
Long nails along the wood
Or cheeks, daring us to hide
In to the shadows, she flies

Never retreats, she is simple
Predator, there just for a bite
Distracted by another,
Potential supper, either
Staff or divide, devours

Stealing breath, stealing lovers
The cold, warm body of night
Slithers under covers, darkness
Rides bringing uncomfortable
Mornings, marks and lies

We tell ourselves bogeymen
Maybe a lover, think it was them
Long nails down backs or thighs
Asleep and dreaming, don't think
It's not possible another, last night

Her embrace took both, too many
Thinking one was another
Maybe rough, a carnival of thighs
Flesh, firm, budding and lithe
Drawing even blood in need

This is night, a creature
Between the physical states
Almost one, or another
Like between our bodies
Wrapped, each in sleep

And then, as eyelids close
That little sound, stirs
Tell yourself, no
It's nothing, just...
Anything else
Ringed of stone
Dark rocks from another time
Broken, shattered, replaced
By not by gnarled hands
Hands, uncalloused,
Delicate fingers, dragging
Unholy stones, upturned
Graves of creatures
Not meant to
Draw breath

Concentric rings, reinforced rituals
Blood, dried and fresh, decorate
Form intricate scrolls,
Forgotten languages
Of Masters, dead and still walking
Hailing dark forces, uncontrolled
Like forcing the seas from the beach
Standing at lowest tide
And bringing creatures
From it's depths
Caught now
In pools

Far from the oceans
Inland and unknown to those
Others, they bend and crawl
Broken of sanity and mind
Tentacled things, fanged
With inhuman strength
A disjointed symphony
From throats, forgotten
Words, gurgling
Choking on no language
For the era of man

Chained by the geometrical
Patterns they don't understand
They cringe and prostrate
In lies to which should
They but lunge, lashing out
Powers which slash through
Minds, bringing insanities
Destroying any that they touch

But rituals, forgotten even by them
Elders, Masters worship, Star Gods
Brought, mindless, from the Beyond
Shipwrecked in our oceans of Earth
Slumbering, shambling Others
Slaved to their wills, games
Bringing to bended knee
Captured to barest glimpse
Minds broken, eternal youth
Women as vessels to hybrid life

Birthed children, monstrosities each
Chained, insane, locked to those
Dark rocks, their shards show
Surrounding prisons ages, old
Centuries untold, legends, mythical
Undulating naked bodies, show
Dancing, sexually unbound
Oiled, aflame though unburnt
Soaking, basking in their power
As their scream break, carry the night
Quaking the Earth, shattering clouds
They seek return, the stars, the seas
To feast, again, on salted flesh
To worship their kraken
Father of them all

-

Good morning
soft honeysuckle breezes
on sun beam desires
soothing my heart
with fragrant moments
gathering along the arc
of my endless smile

Weaving love
in day dreaming patterns
growing forever
on the arbor
of my
heart

Wrapping me
completely
*in her
Look in your eyes
See the world
Turning beneath
The blankets
Covering us

My foot takes a step
To you, touching you
Next to me, your skin
Against mine, soft
As petals, roses drift

A rise, hard, stretching
The skin, almost painfully
The ache, desiring
You, next, now
My last

Wrapping my arms around
Encircling you, pulling
Your lips to lips
Kissing, a nibble
Tickling senses

Pulling your back
Against your head
Clasped gently in my palms
Sore, from days working
Building dreams

Our eyes open, four
Then, two and then one
Effort toward each another
But then, it's not other
It's us, no longer singularly

Entering and welcoming
Giving and taking
Given and taken
A past and a present
At the same time

Rhythmically sung,
Harmony beating
Hearts synced in
Fluttering of breath
Motions in feeling

Each against the other
Then with, at, on
Under, in, out
Off, around
Over, and

More, with fingers
Teeth, just not breaking
Skin, touching
Closer now
We ***

Clasped, gasping
Lips together, pressing
Hand grip sheets
Each other, the bed
For dear life

It begins, ending
Circling like sharks
Not apart, predators
Hunting each other
Smiles, hungry

Losing time in our
Repetitions, our hours
Drifting into ourselves
Then without separation
Passing in to each other

Asleep, between thrusts
In our arms, eyes close
Your head, my shoulder
Your body, protective
My blanket, my Baby

Our nakedness
To each other
Open, trusting
Dreaming
Together
Notches, lines, and curves
Leaving holes, missing parts
Looking for pieces, in places
People, to fill gaps
Persons to flip, perhaps

Find one, almost a match
Let them be this,
Force them to fit
Oh, don't fit?
Get a hammer

Pull your hair
Gnash your teeth
Tear your nails
Stub your toes
Bust you funny bone

Look all over
For that perfect piece
All look the same
Maybe, a bit different
I have to admit

Eventually, a simple plan
Systematically, try them all
Eventually, you have two piles
The ones you tried
And the ones you don't

Then, out of the blue
The piece is in your hand
Maybe you had to turn it
Or maybe it was just right
In either case, there it is

When you have it
There is no reason
Try the rest, the untested
Should be forgotten
They're not worth your time

That one piece, special
Completed the puzzle
And it meant the most
Because she was
The hardest to get
Every so often
There comes a look

It's almost easy to miss
I know I miss it a lot

You showed me that look
In a picture of you

I was amazed
Because I had seen that look

And had nothing
Associated with it

Not anger, not love
It wasn't fear or anxiety

But then you said
It was alluring to you

Although I was lost
I have a sign post

Now along the road
Falling in love again

Always falling,
And never hitting bottom

It's free-falling
And it's beautiful
Fingers like pieces
Puzzled together,
Like they were made
For the other's hands
Clasped together

Each not strong
Enough to hold
Themselves
Together,
They are

Side by side
Left close to right
Next to the other
Partner, partners
With, us, we, ours

Her wing stretches
Fifteen, maybe twenty
Feet, to either side
Again, by side
One wing each

Clouds sweep by
A jet, below, so slow
They grace, diving
Like a raptor
Then their wings

Switchblade
Out, zipping
Pulling, ripping
Them headlong
Out from the ground

Like a flower up, up, up
To the sun, to the sky
Back to the clouds
They were born
To explore
