Along the Seashore
A ghostly figure lay silent,
waves soothing it gently on the seashore.
Closer I walked footprints becoming lighter
in the soft ebbing sand, I stopped.
Aghast at the sight of this large ocean going
giant laying silently as the sun rose over it
lighting up its silken skin.

As I gently touched it
my mind wondered deep into the seas and oceans
of its world, a swish of the tail
the playfulness of the dive
hunting and being hunted,
playing and loving.
Watching giants of the deep that no person has seen, yet.
Giants vessels floating, with people pointing,
leaving filth as they go, smiling, happy.

As the sun hit my face my eyes opened
and I smiled,
the freedom it had and the life it had
and the right to die when ready?
I looked down and dropped to my knees
pulling the plastic from its mouth,
tears in my eyes
I apologised for the human race
I was ashamed
I was ashamed.
Seduced by progress
                       now paying the price
A treat on Friday
                            still curry and rice
Bills monthly or Quarterly
                                  grips like a vice
The nit comb on Sunday
                                 to rid you of lice
A million pound bonus
                            to the not very nice
No cheese left in the pantry
                 can't blame the dead mice
They said how can we help you
                    don't let them ask twice
Wrap up warm in the winter
                       was their only advice

A Dragons Roar
The fields of green are stepped with red blood
our comrades lifeless in the mud
A king his temple wiped by a cloth of gold
today a nations history will be told

Upon a hill a dragon roars
unfurls its wing the dragon soars
He raises his sword to a nations cry
passionate hearts unafraid to die

The enemy routed from their land
sons and daughters together stand
The dragons roar set them to flight
in pursuit long into the night

Yet as we march into our two thousandth year
we still fight for freedom with no fear
"We are still hear", became the cry
but for how much longer we wounder, why

Then the dragon roars upon that hill
our hearts and souls began to fill
With the pride and passion that made our land
so, our sons and daughter make one last stand

History will tell us about our last fight
and if the enemy was routed long into the night
And if the dragon is still soaring above, so high
and if, "We are still hear" is still our battle cry

Dafydd ap Gwilym
The traveling poet in the wilds of sleepy Wales
dined on berries, leaks and maybe some snails
He told his stories of liberation as he beat on his drum
counted his pennies of adoration, a now princely sum

This poets not just a poet he's a famed Welsh Bard
stirs up politics for the masses, when times are so hard
Rallies the people with opportunity for a country to rebel
But, who will lead us he hears the angry voices yell

In Glyndwr a hero arose, woke up a nation to fight
when the battles was over, disappeared out of site
Tis what legends are made of that rallies the poor
But think twice when the poet comes knocking your door

Shadows of the evening
The garden is yawning
The slabs need a clean
The weeds are still sleeping
Just waiting to be seen

The shed is still standing
Held together by a strand
The plant pots are tight together
Early daffs rising hand in hand

The fish are just waiting
In the still ripple less lake
The frogs with one eye open
Not quite fully awake

The people are smiling
As the sun shows its face
Spring is around the corner
As the garden gathers pace
brush of your cobwebs
And so the destruction of society is upon us
our leaders are lost
Blame is the only way out
and if that fails war will follow

We have a destiny to follow and our destiny
always ends in destruction
Which will make way for the opportunist to say
follow me I can make us great again

But we never were, we were just followers
following the path of our destiny
Lead by the opportunist
to our ultimate destruction

Can our children show us the light?

The sun will shine again!
I feel as if I'm walking in endless rain
I know it will blow over but I'm tired
and long for the sun again
I lean on a tree for shelter
and it reminds me it too is drowning
as the leaves empty on to me
at the shudder of my body resting

A cloud covers me
I feel I should give up, then
a warmth touches my neck
I look up
the clouds are racing apart
glimpses of blue heighten my senses
a bird sings
as the rain drops glisten in the sunlight
still dripping happily I walk
in the endless sunshine

I new I would make it:)
We all have gloomy days, the sun will shine again.

Just killing time?
My eyes scan my room while sat in my bed
The book shelf and the books I’ve read

They filled my mind so I’m able to sleep
Memories, interpretations only I can keep

My friends my lovers my companions of time
Faithful friends to the end of my line

Building dreams of fantasy like aged old wine
As I look back at my life, was I just killing time?

Sadness overcomes me as I sit in my bed
And look at the books I have still not read

But, Time has not caught up with me yet!

A strange and lovely place.
In the throng of Ginza,Tokyo City
they greet you with a smile and a bow
scanning the shūji sign posts
they will point the way you should go

In the smiles of a thousand faces
waiting for the red man to turn to green
there patience is rewarded, eventually
as a new crowd joins the scene

Then as you reach your destination
take a stroll amongst he trees, umbrellas and hats
bow and clap your hands three times

If I stare at the moon long enough
A dream will come true

If I stare at the moon long enough
I dream I’m with you

If we stare at the moon long enough
Our souls will break free

If we stare at the moon long enough
We will wander the stars down to the sea
And so it ends a life lived full
dedicated to her loved ones
of great nations and small with equality
on this day we shall mourn
on this day we shall rejoice

I pictured hell as I heard the screams
of the innocent, sobbing
a crowd gathered but not in silence

Hysteria built and hatred grew
the crowed turned to a mob

The edge of the world
Long before the world was round
Ships would sail, never to be found
Time could be told, with no sound
Flesh was sold by the pound
Long before the world was round
In the words of a poet on a great Paris street
The man shuffled and danced by just moving his feet
Then he uncorked a bottle of Bordeaux red
And walked around with two glasses balanced on his head
The crowd gasped and screamed with bated alarm
As he placed a white napkin over his arm
He then spied two lovers arm in arm at a table
Stretched up for the two glasses while flashing his navel
He poured the red wine with aplomb and such grace
Then watch a broad smile cover each lovers face
His job was done by just moving his feet
So he shuffled and danced down a great Paris street

The hardest speech of all
I listened to the thoughts of the quivering voices
they talked about love and loss and laughter and pain
we listened and smiled at the words
sometimes not really understanding but we smiled and nodded
a breath was taken to steady the ship
the room was scanned by so many eyes never meeting
then the last paragraph loomed large
the words spoken were un-legible but the tears spoke volumes
as a heart lay broken for all to see
it was the hardest speech of all

Santa's sleigh is grounded , so he may not be on his way
But the elves have packed all the presents in a big bulging sack
Hoping that the reindeer's relent and will be coming trotting back

Their demands are all agreed in an overwhelming ballot
They would like a minced pie with their sherry and an extra carrot
So parents and guardians please don't ask the reason why
Splash out on the goodies, and give the reindeer's a extra carrot and minced pie

I could not move
I awoke
dreaming I was sleeping
I could smell the air
I could hear the birds
I could not move
I was sleeping
dreaming I was awake

I awoke
and I was scared
Down at the bottom of the Tylwyth Teg wood
by the felled great oak, among the hog **** and blue
bells, close your eyes, look, look, you're there now, can you see it
just under the bending branch, the sun casts it's shadow among the dead leaves, the Bwbach.
Its looking up at the song bird, sat high in the willow singing elegies of time gone by
look, look a tear runs down its cheek, as it sits there alone.
Quiet, don't move, it's pointing up, up there at the sky
Where, where to? there's nothing there
No, there's nothing there just a canvas for your imagination,
use it wisely! said the voice of the Bwbach.

Fairy footsteps
I follow her print to the forest deep
where the thicket howl and the trees weep
and among the nettles she did creep
skipping up the hills so steep

Then for awhile I lost her print
covered in rosemary thyme and mint

I strayed for a moment or maybe a mile
a tap on the shoulder, she said with a smile

Are you lost dear friend or are you just at play
if you can keep up I'll show the way
to fields of corn and cities of hay
there you can sit with us, but just for the day

I opened my eyes from that sweet deep sleep
please don't be just a dream, I start to weep

A tap on the shoulder, she said with a smile
I'll follow you closely for just a mile
when you come to the road fork with the large sleeping gnome
the right fork will take you 50 skips from your home

I sat in the window, Mum said, how was your day
I said, I laid in the corn next to the cities of hay
I met a new friend who invited me to play
I'll go back tomorrow if I can remember the way
Drifted from a poem to a tale.

The mermaids tail
The water looked inviting
so I dipped in my toe
I swam in a circle
                             no particular place to go
The current then gripped me
so I went with the flow

I heard the mermaid sing her song of love how could it fail
she was beckoning me with her tail
Follow me she smiled as she swam out of site
The current dragged me the other way to my delight
I swam and swam into the night until I heard the siren wail
Don't dip your toe watery delight or be beckoned by her tail

Do not go gentle until this goodnight
Rage at the battles you must fight
Deliver the lost souls to see the light
Rage, Rage, Rage with all your might

Then when your goodnight comes in sight
Pass your rage to those who have seen the light
They will take the baton and carry the fight
Go gentle in peace to your goodnight

Then when called, speak gentle if you might
For all the peace lovers, who carry the fight
Their banners and gathering will be a sight
As they turn lost souls gently to the light

So they can go gently into their goodnight

The cycle of water is parallel to time. Your life, your death,
your rebirth

The time it takes for the tiny
Seep to slowly become a mountain spring

A spring to become a babbling brook
A brook to create a flowing stream

A stream speedily racing into a river
A river raging into the sea

A sea engulfed by the world’s oceans of time

Currents pushing you to places you’ve never seen
Waiting for evaporation to draw you up into the clouds

Gathering high above hills and mountains
Falling as rain seeping deep under ground
Waiting

Life is the mountain spring encouraging you forward to begin
your journey

Death is the oceans waiting for the clouds to gather you up and restart your journey again
