I kissed a girl with a broken smile;
nothing could come near.
She carved it with a pocket knife;
slit from ear to ear.
And she wears it like her favourite scarf;
it keeps her from the cold.
So I told her its only woven by
her enemies of old.

With time, all wounds heal, and lesser the pain we feel
The bleeding heart stops, but not to beat, yet!
We live on;
and we live long after…
Some of us with only the scarred hearts reminding us of the past
Never to forget the memories of you, until the last breath
Only then,
when time is called and the rest of the body gets cold

Only then, may we forget

We were two innocent beautiful souls
Unknowingly destined to fall in love
Fate would not have it
An abomination,
Nature would not have us
Rejected were the wishes of our hearts
Prohibited were the passions within us,
Forbidden like the apple of Eden,
and Our sin denied us a moment in heaven
We are sown from the same fabric. You and i

Standing together arm in arm yet worlds apart

Our minds connected by invincible wire
You dream of I, and I of you
You are a beautiful sight I can never forget
I carry the memory of you on me like a tattoo of a taboo
Ashamed I cover my pride
Your image imprint inside my eyelids,

Yes I do, it’s hard to think
But I see you every time I blink

I reminiscence our starting out, like blossomed flowers on a spring morning,
We were young and youthful then; everything about us was exciting,
Loud and cheerful, bright and colourful, we were always smiling,
Confined and restricted, and soon we were not breathing;
The fire of love had quenched, the desire and lust was lost, and we both started dying;
It is like we are falling off a cliff, but steadily we are floating,
Defying the inevitable end each day, we keep on surviving,
The sadness slowly grows to hate, the seed we have been sowing.

We can feel it changing,
Instead, we remain resolute and say nothing;
Feelings of love and hate, we keep covering;
Distances form from the pains that we harbour, it will not be long before we start drifting,
Further apart with every unspoken word, as these unexpressed emotions keep on piling,
Deep down inside, we both are hurting,
Hearts torn into, and the sores do not stop bleeding,
All from the lies we tell each other, to keep our dream living.

Bound together in chains of our own past, we kept on moving,
Slaves to our desires, wanting to take and not bothered with giving,
Lustful in our ways, we keep on craving,
Selfish in our own light, we keep receiving and never saving;
We always want more, until the source starts dying,
Then we move on, not even a glance behind we spare, or a brief moment for grieving,
It is the vicious cycle of life, and we keep on killing;
Cold hearted, warm-blooded, the combination is chilling.

Looking into the still,
black waters
that is your
imagined soul,
My withering prince,
everything held within,
a mere reflection of the
nothingness of time
And did it hurt,
My withering prince?
When I fell through
all the nothingness
that is you?

My empty memories,
of your stone hands
bleed the spaces
between seconds,
between dry tears
And I likened my soul,
to the yellowing pages
of an aged book,
crumbling,
tattering,
with every touch

My withering prince,
did it hurt,
when I fell through,
all the nothingness,
that is you?~A

What does it mean to be

inhaling oxygen
breathing life
into my weary being,

culpable to my constant
throbbing consciousness
as intricate webs
that were once woven
into my mind
crumble to
the onslaught of time?

What stories could be told
about the needle in
the metal garbage bin
in the gas station bathroom,

about the thin
brown skinned
woman
rolling up slow
as I ride my bike
while getting soaked
in the pouring rain
after eleven P.M.,

about the misconception,
the keys clutched in my
tense hands,
a heart of suspicion
that never becomes reality,

about the uncertainty,
if I should be at ease
or stand tightly on guard
while strangers watch
and walk around me,

about the social programming
that even though I know exists
still affects the way I react
more frequently
then I care to admit?

I've been making memories
for us my head
thinking about a future
that hasn't happened
About someone who isn't there
I've been thinking about you
And the things we could have done

A poem is but a skeleton
waiting
for mind
and
imagination
to fill the open

spaces

between the ribs

mind
and
imagination
to flesh it out

mind
and
imagination
to make it whole

for one,
full
and
sated,
it may dance
and
delight
in abundance

while another sees
embers
glowing
through
the spaces
warm
and
peaceful
yet
still
mysterious

for another
more questions
than
answers
are created
leading
down
a deep
path
of wandering
of wondering

seeking
the meaning
the light

through

the spaces
between
the bones
