Static
Katelynn Brewer May 2015
My thoughts are jumbled
Like the static of a television
If I concentrated enough on him maybe I could find his channel
But he is colorful and brilliant
And I am trapped between the frenzied lines of isolation
Isolation from life, beauty, and individuality
Just because no one has taken it upon themselves to press power
Doesn't mean they want to watch
So I'll stay here
Always static, always still
Never to regain signal

The Key
Katelynn Brewer May 2015
She is breath and sunlight and warmth
She is the golden pigment found in his irises
She is the sweet sound of a breathless laugh after a kiss
She is the key to his mortality

He is frozen time and darkness and ice
He is the dark shade found in the corners of her lips
He is the sharp, menacing sound of snide comment
He is the key to her demise

— The End —
