Something Simple Jan 2019
Tired eyes and tired lies
Gold leaf promises
Holding on for another day
Another moment
Another second
Life gets narrow and the shadows grow old
Something Simple Feb 2015
And so the tide of change creeps in
As we try to hide our shallow hearts
And Graveyard minds

You know,
Might as well give before they take
Drown 'em in honey and vice
They'll leave you empty, empty inside

Can't take nothing but love where you're going
And we'll all have to leave
So might as well give what you take

Don't make more empty because of your mistakes
Give more than they take

You were filled with a glass-glow light when I saw you.
Radiant in the dappled night, bright in the darkest night.

*You were my deception, you were my ruin
You

You
Well I have hope in a road
And I stared often out these doors
Walked through those thirsting there
So you threw sand to me

In talks often he is here,
He turns your earth into gold
And though you start to break through
How long standing forgotten?

Cause you dance, you yearn
You yearn to grow
You, you
You

You shout to know
You shout through
Turn to old
You

You sit in darkness and wish for light.
You could move, you could fight.
Life has found you in this night.
You've lost your might, you've lost your bite.

You could still be
Exist in more than just this twilight
Yet still you stay in this endless night
She's blazing with life on the other side

Branches are reaching and grass is growing
Rivers are flowing
Buds are blooming
And yet you do not move

Are you the seed that never grew?
Are you the bud that never bloomed?
Are the leaf that fell too soon?
Are you the one who stands still
In a world that moves?

It has been quiet.
The trees sway sometimes in the restless breeze, it has rained, it has darkened but always the sun has shown in the end.
This is the way it has always been.
This is the way it will always be.
Beautiful.
Lonely.
There are many names to describe such a feeling as these trees bring.
