Populations all wiped out,
Liquidated with no doubt.
All life, gone in a flame;
No one left to take the blame.
Existence cries of extinquished life,
Taken like the blade of a knife.

Fallen civilization now imploded,
Atomic weapons all exploded.
Life is gone, taken all away;
Life is gone, long gone astray.

The air is charged and ominous,
A stench is settling on us,
Like ashes on our skin.
How did this begin?

Bones held in hands
Took foreign lands;
Fires on sticks
Extinquished the magic
That once held us in awe.

Then the sky's truly lit,
They've fired bigger sticks
From beneath the waves,
Into the air,
Or silos hidden
Below the stars,
With candles brighter than before,
That darken skies,
Turn day to night,
And colour our skin
With ashes.
N. Korea has just tested their H-Bomb.

Waste
Daytonight Sep 2012
Crushed like rose petals
strown upon the ground
carelessly trampled underfoot
although no blame was placed
nothing could be done except
blame oneself
for somehow not being enough
never enough.

Tears flowing
trying to wash and cleanse
but pain too deep
to be reached
not understanding
why the globe
must fall off its axis.

The tides ceased to flow
the sun was extinquished
the moon could not reflect its light
the stars vanished one by one
all crops failed
no more lush verdant green meadows
only waste.

When I am gone
Know that what I did,
I did for those I love.
Every life extinquished
I did to protect you.
You will not read this.
You will have no reason to
Until after I've passed.
Be it today
Or after eons passed.
I stood at ready.
My eyes were open.
I saw clearly.
I lived as I should have
Restless.
I will have died as I lived.
In blood and bile.
Though I saw the faces
Of those I'd toppled
In my dreams,
My only wish was
That the dreams ended
When I reach my final sleep.
