  from a deep slumber,
  hibernation abruptly,

Fast Food
Ryan O'Leary Aug 2024
If I were a Muslim or Catholic
I’d be associating it with Lent
or Ramadan, an abstention!

But as I am neither and not at
all discerning about that which
I consume, I expect it is Rabbit!

Vegetarians ruminate, therefore
anything with legs and eyes, etc,
might not be accessible to them.

Slow food can only be harvested
at a particular time of year, but
grass is available in most fields.

When not, there is always a version
of it on the menu albeit it being in a
processed form of silage or hay.

But, since old McDonald died and
his sons inherited the farm, nearly
everything is GMO without DNA.

This is the problem, time is money,
assembly line food, mass produced,
cheap to buy, no digestion required.

You are what you eat and all ill health
comes from the intestine, kick McDo’s
out because it is utter American *******.

Metaphorical
Métamorphose

In poetry
And in prose

River flowing
From the mountain

Makes it’s way
To Innisfree

Spills its water
Round the lake isle

Then outflows
Towards the sea

And just as one
Cannot stop the wind

That shakes the
Barley

The bird of Palestine
Like the Irish Wolfhound

Is gentle when stroked
But viscous when provoked.

Wilde said he had nothing
to declare but his wit, well
if you happened to be an

Tell me something Paddy,
