Silent tears
 Sep 2016 RJW
Stephan

The night sky seems darker
as stardust teardrops
fall silently as if mourning
the passing of the day

And as I stare upward
I notice the crescent moon
is frowning with me
as my tears too fall silently

Little Bear
he had a certain kind
of glow
to his love

it shone out of him
like rays
of
sunlight
warming the skin

as it saturated
him;
his gentle spirit
spilled
like
drops
of
sunshine
upon our faces

his eyes
held
daylight
so beautifully

he could
light up the
whole sky

Little Bear
i think love
must be
made of magic

you see..

i watched
closely
as they held hands

touching gently
with their fingers
entwined
like..

if they let go

even for
just
a moment

they would be
lost
without each other
forever..

and
so

i thought..

what else could love be
if it were not made
of magic?

what else could
hold you
so utterly
and completely
together

with just the
touch of
your
fingertips?

Little Bear
cry on me
warrior
let your tears
soak
into my skin
for i will carry them
in your stead
and they will be
proclaimed just

and with my voice
your tears
will be heralded
across the sky
as truth

have faith
in this
for the time
is now fast approaching
for a reckoning
to take place

and i will be humble
in my joy
before you

bearing witness
to your
salvation

Night comes
r
     o l l i
               n g
                 down again
in painted coats
of thick onyx
clouding my vision
as if a brightly-striped
cuttlefish,
                sister of squid
has enveloped me
in its
dark liquid
           sea ink
an opaque vapor
for protection,
a shimmering
            sheild against
disillusionment
pain of potential
         loss
endless strands
of longing
knotting in my
hair like kelp
keeping me rooted
to the sea floor,
feet ensconced in
the soft squish
of muck and earth
Miraculously,
    I breathe,
as if a sea nympth,
a mermaid
holding on to
the silvery scales
of her reality
indigo-dipped
in deepest iridescence
blending with fronds
of vibrant greens
and I am floating
within a vast membrane
     of brine
somehow nuturing,
liquid cushion
of womb-water
letting it slake
the piquancy of thirst
that bursts my tongue
               into succulence
Spiked in sea stars
like thorny crowns,
I reach out to
discover new textures
puncture the dark
with my fingers
enfold those waters
      to me,
letting them
rock the soul
          of my soul
the heart
      of the seed
of my heart
   and allow my
sonar, as powerful
as a whale's
encompassing call
to surge up
through nautical miles
                      of ocean depths,
buoyed through layers
of waves
        up unto
the winds
that ride,
     ever-tenderly,
the surface
    of
       the
    dawn

Little Bear
the dust will settle
and i will come
searching
under the ground
to find you

still breathing
still bleeding
still needing
air
my love
i will find one more
breath
for you
as you gasp
and grasp for
for heaven

but
my love
smile with me
let it go
for all we need
to hold onto
is the sky
between our fingers

hands holding tight
look at me
look
at
me
see no lie
place my promise
in your heart
where it belongs

and i will save us both
