I have been swimming in this lonely ocean of yours for way to long,
And now it's time for me to taste a new kind of salt.
For I should be more than a blimp on your sonar.
So keep testing those waters with timid toes,
Because although there's plenty more fish in the sea,
You'll never find a mermaid like me.

Missing you comes in waves,
And every night I brace myself for crashing waters.
Though nothing happens except a harmless trickle,
Last night raged harder than ever.
With tsunami eyes,
I woke up underwater.

I am the ocean,
And you are a boy upon the shore.
You love my waves,
And the shells I flow out.
Entertained by ripples,
But fascinated with my depth.
Yet you float in shallow waters,
Too terrified to take the plunge.
Too terrified to swim.

These nights we spend apart
I yearn for you to return to me
I lie in bed with thoughts of your fingertips caressing every inch of my flesh
Tracing my being, memorizing every curve.
Thoughts of you, breathing heavily against my collarbones
Has me hungry for your kisses against my bare skin
Missing your feet laced with mine
As our Legs intertwine
Not knowing where you end and begin
Only knowing we are one
A locked love connection
These nights we spend apart
I'm missing you in every moment
Until you return to me.
