We live in a paradise of lies
That sets our hearts on fire
It sets us to reach for the skies.

I sit upon my perch
Watching others rub
Their noses in dirt

Life has twisted so much
That all is seen is makeup
Just a powdered finishing touch

In a paradise of lies
That sets our hearts on fire
It's what sets us to reach for the skies

If one was to speak the truth
You'd be cast aside
Might even lose a tooth

So be careful where you tread
For the blooming rose has its thorns
For you never know what's truly been said

Sitting in a paradise of lies
Is what sets our hearts on fire
The day has come where truth dies
