You promised me, you promised me

by bea-de-vera

You promised you'd be with me That even storms can't keep us apart I believed you but then you left me for her You left me and my broken heart You promised me, you promised me You came back and promised to stay So I accepted you again But you left me that night, for her I cried out to you but all in vain You promised me, you promised me You returned once more and asked for my hand So I blindly agreed because of my depression We were together, yes, but then you went to her again And left me with a shattered expression You promised me, you promised me I grew old waiting for you to come back I never stopped looking back, the way we were before I keep remembering you three promises But then I realized, we won't be together anymore You promised me, you promised me
