Rambling boy, ramble on
Your so far away from home
Where it is you'll end up next
Is as good as anybody's guess

Randomly you choose a star
The furthest one from where you are
Though you've not made it that far yet
Still to soon to place your bets

As you go from near to far
Trying to out run your life scars
That for years you've held onto
Or is it they wont let go of you

As you reach the far left coast
California raise a toast
This is now where you find you are
The Pacific holds your distant star

Rambling boy set your suitcase down
On the edge of surf and sand
This is where your meant to be
Contemplating life by the golden sea
