In long velvet sighing hallways With no shining beckoning light No path guiding me forward Nor any awaits me behind My eyes shuttered windows To life I am completely blind
I am stone deaf To the sounds of angels Having no ear for love and hope Round my soul tightening A strong knotted rope I stand on the edge Looking down in hesitation Contemplating the jump
I cannot vocalize the sadness That is devouring me A lovers truth painted with pretty lies My lips refusing to speak the words My heart An emptying hourglass Seeping pain slowly dies
I am lost In dark velvet sighing hallways With no one to hear my echoing cries
