one day every direction
known to man
decided to change directions
on a whim

north went west
east went south
up, side to side
then decided down

left went in circles
while straight veered to the right
forward, backwards
until it lost sight

and where do you begin
when it comes to in
it went the opposite
and we all know what that is

which leaves us in limbo
not knowing the way to go
and how long it takes to get there
since high is now low
