After the news
if you've not been thrilled by it
we can review it
yes
we can do it
because we are the architects.

Those clouds
don't even look like clouds
they're more like
smudges,

he
nudges himself awake
sits up
to watch the daybreak
only to see it
disintegrate,

inside of his own programme
man
switches channels
midstream
to dream
of an alternative ending.
