Saint Bridget a women of peace and
She brought so much happiness and love to Ireland she brought hopes
Of joy for all us Irish today
And it's Saint Bridget's day
And with the Lord's
Shining light and his love in our heart's
Every day
We cherish and love
Saint Bridget today and I'll love
And pray for all the sick
And suffering on Saint Bridget's day and may the Lord's peace and love
Touch our heart's on this special day
Amen Lord Jesus Christ.
With its origins in the Celtic festival of Imbolc, St Brigid's Day was the festival of fertility and marked the beginning of spring in Ireland. It signalled an end to the darkness of winter and ushered in a new season of hope and growth.
