May 2022
the hanging rope beckons again
as it sways from ceiling
the empty nothingness of dangling chain
allure most appealing

to and fro oblivion
swings as giant pendulum
its tempting vacant meridian
mocks me with its rhythm

proffers an out from jeer, contempt,
escape from false pretence
escape from moral turpitude
that glistens as a ****.

glistens 'n shines, 'n sickens the mind,
'n turns the innocent blind,
escape that makes the loop enticing
a circle so inviting

step up to me it whispers
feel my tight embrace
forget the world of twisters
let go of cursed chase
