Faintly wary,
the Crow
comes near,
listens
carefully
to disconcerting
impassioned pleas,
echoing despair
from beyond
deep darkness
so haunting.
Confused,
overwhelmed,
dull wings
suddenly set aflutter
in chorus
with cricket symphonies
and howling winds.
Breathe.
The Crow
reaches out
past bars
to cavernous twilight
painting joined plumes
back to life.
