For years I said hollow prayers to a god I never believed in
Begging for some sort of rescue from all the hurt in my heart

Now I spend all my mornings in church basements
Sipping coffee with strangers and ragtag friends

Telling them about all the pain in my chest
And how grateful I am to still be here
