the devil closed his eyes in shock
couldn't bear to look
as child fell as rock
into blood-stained brook
child of nineteen years
begging for his life
begging with dripping tears
before the rifle's knife
the devil blocked his ears
couldn't bear to hear
the cry of youthful teenage years
fade and disappear
as the metal tool of darkness
winnowed away the light
leaving world in naked starkness
leaving world of night.

18 Aug. 21. 2 shooters drove up and attacked Jewish school in Denver. They started by shooting at the front windows, then chased an 19 year old student who had been outside and shot him, twelve times, as he begged for his life.
