I asked, "do you believe in forever?"
"forever is when we are together";
thy answer with touch of love so tender
with whisper, " I will love thee whenever"
Our love began with cardboard and chalk.
Underneath the sun together we walk,
initials were carved on oak tree with rock,
cherishing moment every tick of clock.
When youth were filled with love of end and pain,
we built our way and changed our lane,
ignoring signs that will lead us in vain,
Keeping our hearts and vows tied with chain.
Staring at the young love that we made,
I thank God for sending the one I prayed,
despite of ordeals, thee held and stayed,
and promised, "our love will never fade"
Now, our hair is growing white as snow,
lines on our skin starting to show,
our toes full of mirth were going slow,
and the love of us is all that we know.
Mayhap our life starting to bland,
but like an oak tree this love will stand,
full of strength and rooted beneath the sand.
Take my vow, "I will always hold thy hand"
I worry not the death that coming near,
as I know our love will remain here.
"On this bed we will stay together dear";
"until sound of lifetime is all we hear"
