Everything he had anticipated
A life he invested in
He stands beneath the foot of the climb
All his courage is drowning in a pool of pain.

A deal he wishes he could take back
How he longs to resign from the path he chose.
He now walks alone, ahead of him no track
And into the darkness, he steps.

In a life that he traded his soul for,
Loneliness now accompanies him.
No man to call a friend.
The undertone of regret keeps him awake

this is a deal he wishes he hadn't made
A heart of gold now turned to waste
Hollow, empty and displeased
He is alone.
I once fooled myself with all my might and the words of this poem were the only way to relate how I was feeling at the time.
