Dec 2019
pretty words that sound beautiful
when they come out. But when you
don’t follow-through I have my doubt –
that all they are, are pretty words.

You say
promises that you insist
you’ll keep. But there’s a twist to what
you say.  Because what you
do is sweep them away.

You say
things you know I want
to hear to try to steer me in your
direction. But they always lack sincere
affection.

You say
you’ll change. But isn’t it
strange that after all these years
things remain the same. And here you are,
playing your games.

I say
I’ve had enough. Because
what you say is only fluff!
