Jul 2019
fantasies and the heavens
gathered in fragile moonlight
promises brightly eager
embraced beautifully
with trembling softness

now our starving swings
creak in complicated harmonies
of misunderstood goodbyes
no final tenderness
only a teacher’s regret
To me, nothing is more plaintive than the breeze making the chains on empty swings play their discordant and melancholy tunes in the night air.
