I saw you there at midnight,
so far up on the hill,
the stars danced all around you
but you were standing still.
Your hair was soaked in moonlight,
and your eyes were shining, too.
You gazed at the world's wonders,
but me? I looked at you.

I saw you there at midnight,
when the sky was glowing blue.
We shared that time together,
and you never even knew.
Then you walked your own way,
a way I'd never see,
and I never got to tell you,
what that night meant to me.
