Poems
Jun 2019
Almost
Emancipated I looked on,
The world below me spun.
The last breaths of the day slipped away
Fleeting with the setting sun
Then, as if mirroring the stars above,
The lights of the city lit,
I opened my arms about to fall,
But decided against it.
Not today, not in this way
No, thereβs still beauty left to behold
I trembled as I stepped down
And shivered in the deathly cold
