Or maybe make them smile
A new beginning, a place to start
Or maybe accept denial

To help them feel they're not alone
A reason to wipe their tears
To soften a heart that's turned to stone
Or calm their deepest fears

To help them find tomorrow's sun
When things aren't looking bright
Help them forgive the wrong they've done
And help them make it right

To help them find their hopes and dreams
That's faded by the way
Show them it's nothing like it seems
To tell them it's okay

To help them grasp their inner peace
To make it like it was
To help them know their pain will cease
That's what a poem does
