Oct 2018
last night I met your doppelganger
a sign of good fortune to comeΒ Β
he planted tiny orchids along my skin
bit my neck whispering I would be okay
sweetest summer shadow
a soft shape summoned in slumber
my fingers played with yours
laid together over covers
you know, love, you were wrong
I only wanted you the way you are
laced lips lingering longingly
we lounged, locking looks
it hurt that you believed I wanted control
I wanted your happiness, and mine, yes
but I didn't waste our brief time last night
I whispered secrets against your skin
hoping you'd hear how humbled I am
that you had held heaven to me
