Street So New
I've walked across
this street so new
Walked across,
away from you
My heart is scarred
which makes it strong
Now I know
just where I belong
The street is empty,
so full of hope
But it leads to darkness
and a hanging rope
I've left your side
to take this path
to let it all go
to fuel my wrath
Now it's your turn
to let me go
to let me fall
This is all I know
I've crossed this street
many times before
This one and another
too many times, I'm sure.
I know where this leads
That truth I cannot hide
I've opened this door
I've stepped outside
So across the street
or down the road
I'll take this path
Leave me alone
