In the dark I went
In the dark I stayed too long
In the dark I found pleasure
Empty, but made me company
In the dark I found despair
judgment, guilt, shame
I was alone.
I felt alone.

Then I found myself.
Utterly naked and peaceful
And I learned to love myself
as I am
without the burden of ego,
of rules and expectations

Out of the darkness
I found Light
within
and realized
that I am one with the Light,
and darkness is my friend.
