I saw two dozen roses
When at the store today.
Wilting and withered
Full, velvet curtains
Dry, brittle petals
A rose is still a rose
Stunning wit, and rose-stained lips
But you are not a rose

A mountain is not a stone
The moon is not a star
An ocean is not a lake
And you are not a rose
