Once upon a Springtime's glowing rays,
of sunlight far beyond our happy gaze;
The seeds of flowers sown into earth,
with pretty petals shown upon their birth.

We laughed the shining afternoons away,
while sipping sweet and frosty lemonade;
Beneath a vast umbrella of turquoise skies,
I felt that love was surely beautiful and wise.

A poem from your heart was gently spoken,
this aching heart of mine no longer broken;
Your tenderness joined with a hand in mine,
while showers of daffodils appeared sublime.

Once upon a Spring I felt your touch,
the breezes in the air were soft and lush;
That season stays forever in my mind,
as memories ring out from church bells' chimes.
Inspired by a song called "Once Upon a Summertime" written in French by Eddie Marnay with the English translation done by Johnny Mercer. This romantic tune is sung exquisitely by Barbra Streisand on her French Album, Je M'appelle Barbra, from the early 60's. It has always been one of my favorites !
