Poems
Apr 2018
the moon is our hourglass
dance in the morning
all warnings are slipping away
the rain is a hundred tears
the moon is our hourglass
streaks of color
in sunset's persimmon sky
i am soaked in honey
your feet are my pillow
in love’s shelter
the storm of life passes
baskets of fruit overflowing
the rhythm is distant
our echos are persistent
infinite dreams of bison are flowing
how did we get here
sweat out this fragrance
drift from soul to page
like a butterfly in mating season
Oh sage
of delicate fingers
the ethers are binding
are you direct
or are you blinding
make space for innocence
the way a glove separates the fingers
forget the medicine
that is not growing in your garden
stroke my arm and kiss my soul
four fingers strumming
and only the thumb
knows the downbeat
select from the masses
a basket of fruit
if the flowers
are staring directly at you
they shall respect your masquerade
still they invite you
to jump out of your ego
and give up this charade
dress yourself yet again
in your whitest wedding gown
its time to undo
the ritual
that cast you
from your shadow
