Tenderness
Clammy little hand on my face
It's 4 a.m., did you know that?
Baby girl, I forgive you
Come and monkey climb on our bed
The milky sweetness on your breath
Made tenderness
Of every sleepless night
Loud bubbling laughter in my ear
When migraine splits my head in two
Baby girl, I love you still
Absent-minded I reach for you
The soft petal kiss on my face
Makes tenderness
Of every small shortcoming
