Dec 2017
When you can't sleep,
Late night thoughts creep up
And tug at your sheets

As wave upon wave of
Sleepless anxiety

Shifts your bones,
Crawls under your skin.
Like a nagging itch
You can't explain.

You ponder truth and meaning,
Fears and doubts.
Your brain is awake
But your mind is tired.

You feel nothing,
Yet everything bothers you.

And slowly...
Staring back at you
Are the decisions
You've yet to make.

But you close your eyes
And tell yourself,
"I'll let you be tomorrow's mistake."
