Disenfranchised youth
with dreams in our eyes,
we wile away the hours
teaching ourselves we are special.

Witnesses to miracles,
viewers of depravity:
the world is ours to see
at the touch of a button.

We've seen it all;
we feel we've done it all
and really we've done
nothing at all.

So our lament is saved:
saved from nonexistence,
but victim to obscurity
alone on HelloPoetry.
