You can smell the lake right now.

I'm sitting on my doorstep
With the sunshine starting to sink
And blurring
My vision.
Thinking.

The other day
My therapist asked me,
How often do I feel safe,
Content,
And at peace?

Rarely.

For a while
A felt it only with him,
The sunshine in my life.
But I want to feel it on my own.

There are kittens playing
On our patio,
I've got my crocheting
Wrapping around me,
It's peaceful.
And I'm even on my own.

You can smell the lake right now.
